The waters you′ll be fishing have something to say when it comes to the fishing technique you will employ. The size of the fish its feeding habits as well as whether or not it puts up a fight have a lot to do with the actual specifications of the rod and reel. As for the frequency of use it goes without saying that utilizing a combo quite often means that it has to be durable above all. Don′t forget to look at the bait or lure you will be using as its weight has a lot to do with selecting the proper setup.
Late spring and early summer are preferred for bass to spawn. The water may have a temperature of about 55-65 degrees Fahrenheit which is ideal for the new fish to spawn and thrive. Bass knows such aspects very well and that is why this time of the year is preferred to others by many anglers.
Action: Affects your casting distance and accuracy also relating to the lure or bait you need and the strength of the reel that should be used. The smaller the fish the lighter the action needed while the heavier the fish the heavier the action. An action may be slow medium fast or a combination (e.g. medium-fast.). An extra fast action rod bends just at the tip. A fast action bends in the last quarter of the rod. A moderate-fast action rod bends over the last third. A moderate action rod bends over the last half. A slow action rod bends all the way into the handle.
